Buckingham climbed to third in the table with a hard fought victory of South Berks. Buckingham started well and kept the Berks defence under pressure with the new press. With this pressure mounting Bucks created plenty of chances but were unable to make the breakthrough. Eventually mid way through the first half Pearson broke the deadlock with a well placed drag flick. As Bucks struggled to take their chances frustration started to creep in and Bucks found themselves trying to force their way through. A stern half time team talk and Bucks came out well moving the ball at pace and keeping the pressure on. On a rare skirmish into the Bucks D, South Berks found an equalise with a deflected flick of their own sneaking in off Pettefer on the post. This was the kick Bucks needed and continued to pile on the pressure. Bucks found a winner when Trumper was first to react to a rebound and slotted home. A frustrating day for Bucks who feel they should have scored more goals.
MOTM went to Walker for a solid performance in the midfield causing Berks problems all morning. DOTD was pretty unanimous with Trumper taking the accolade after intercepting the ball at the top of the D and with all the time in the world managed to fire the ball at least 6 foot wide. Special mention also to C Beesley for marinating match tees in his post match beverage. Next week Bucks travel to Windsor who sit on level points keen to extend the winning run.
